Art and Photography from Thomas Valle
Since 2003 I have been actively enjoying nature photography. About a year later I decided to try painting with acrylics.
The two hobbies go well together since it is much easier to paint at home with the photographs of my trips and photography gives me a lot of reference material as well as inspiration.
Some of my favorite places have been the Tremont area of the Smokey Mountains, the south Cumberland, Everglades National Park and parks we lived near like Bowie Park in Fairview Tennessee, the Natchez Trace and nature anywhere.
In Spring Hill Tennessee, I became involved with the Spring Hill Arts Council to help support the arts and share experiences with other artists.
In 2009 we moved to Florida’s nature coast. Here I have enjoyed making new friends and taking lots of pictures of the nature that is so abundant.
My wife and I had a “solar home” built here in Brooksville, FL and enjoy living here. After a year here I had finally begun to paint again. My first work is a mural on the wall of our screened room and then I began painting with acrylics again. As usual, using the nature photos of places we travel to.
Since I only began to paint in my retirement, my training has been through observation and experimentation. I am blessed when some of my best memories are brought to canvas to share with others and thank God whenever the paints do things that amaze me, since every good gift is truly from above.
My work has been displayed at Bowie Park, Fairview, TN, at Eagle Nest, The Land of the Blue Mist gallery in Banner Elk North Carolina, at the Spring Hill Library and Spring Hill Arts Gallery. Since living in Florida, I have done some paintings for gifts, requests, commission and consignment, as well as bringing back memories of our trips into nature. Each painting is a learning experience and gives me joy and a thankful heart when others like them too!
I would also like to thank Charles Snoek for his encouragement in getting me to develop my art and share my gift.
